The story (in non-spoiler form):
Lufia II is a prequel that tells the full story of Maxim's quest to defeat the Sinistrals. This game features not only the standard battles, but also challenging puzzles (and of course the Ancient Cave) that make this well worth replaying. Maxim and his varied companions travel through the world and end up in the original battle on Doom Island. The game then ends with the opening of Lufia I, forming a neat circle of a story.
